NATALIE BURTON OLY
The Mindful Athlete training is a small group workshop designed to empower athletes with the self-awareness to discover the way your mind-set influences your wellbeing and performance.
Athletes are taken through a series of exercises to deepen your awareness and are provided with tools to choose a mind-set that enriches all areas of your life by:
- Developing your understanding of the power your thoughts have over your actions on the court
- Creating an awareness of your current mind-set and how it influences your decision making
- Learning how to re-direct your focus to a new mind-set that allows you to enhance your performance and wellbeing
- Uncovering your 'why' for playing sport, and incorporating this into your personal on-court goals
Here is what some of our previous participants have had to say about this program...
"I guess I already knew that I needed to take a step back and not overthink, but really learning about how the mind works really helped me see it in a different light, and it did help me. I enjoyed getting direct feedback and also applying things to basketball. Also hearing about other people’s thoughts and conflicts.” HerHoops athlete, age 14
“I enjoyed expressing myself and talking to people about my problems.” Armstrong Basketball athlete, age 13
“I got a lot out of the workshop. Nat helped me to be more open and feel better and think positive.” Armstrong Basketball athlete, age 13
"The takeaway message for me was that I don’t need to listen to my thoughts. The more I worry about them and others opinions, the more it affects my game." Athlete, age 13
"I think everything I learnt today was very useful and that I can implement it in more ways than just basketball." HerHoops athlete, age 14
"I would definitely recommend this for other athletes! I know many people that have trouble believing in their abilities and have a negative mind-set, and it really helped me." HerHoops athlete, age 14
